Tip #9: Begonias
If you have shaded porches or garden beds that receive only filtered morning light, begonias are the perfect solution for continuous summer color. While most long blooming flowers demand blistering sun, wax begonias and tuberous begonias provide brilliant, jewel-toned flowers and striking, fleshy foliage in the shade.
Modern wax begonias are remarkably self-cleaning. The fading flowers drop off naturally, saving you the tedious chore of manual deadheading. You can plant them in mass groupings to create a solid carpet of color that requires virtually zero maintenance beyond standard watering.
The key to begonia success lies in proper moisture management. Their thick, succulent stems naturally hold a significant amount of water. You must plant them in light, well-aerated soil and avoid overwatering. Water at the base of the plant early in the morning so the leaves stay dry, which helps prevent stem rot and powdery mildew.

Great information on flowers that bloom all summer.
Thank you,
Darlene
Where’s the article. All I get is ads for edging
It’s located on the first page. There’s the pic of flowers and a gold link that sez “See Flowers”. Tap on that and your first of 12 flowers is zinneas. At the end of that part, click on the green 2 so be taken to the next flower info. Continue until you have seen all 12 flowers.
Thanks for the wonderful tips. I’m running a little behind schedule in extending my summer garden but will definitely incorporate these ideas.
I would like info on where can I buy the seeds or plant of LANTANA and MARIGOLD please
I’ve got Lantana growing along my driveway and front yard. I would live to send you some.
vinca, all summer until frost, and withstand hot sun, and pretty good when it dry
I can only see two flowers. What am I doing wrong?
