Our name is simple, as you can see. We don’t like to make things complicated, and our name tells you all you need to know about us.
This is the perfect place for beginners or even experienced gardeners who want to connect with the beautiful world of plants. Gardening is our passion, and we are eager to share it with you!
You know how things work: You need a seed to start something big. Our seed was planted on one of those lazy summer afternoons when a group of, now friends, decided to do something that had the potential to bring good to this world.
This is not a grand story with an intriguing premise. We all met on a gardening-related Facebook group. We were mostly sharing pictures of our plants and giving gardening advice to those in need.
If you have ever been part of a Facebook group before, you know very well that there are some members who are more active than others. We, the people you can find here, were there almost every day, commenting on any post where someone was having a hard time understanding how to pot their plants properly or how to water them without overdoing it.
After a few months, we already knew each other by name. Tasha was the one obsessed with her succulents, Poppy was the one who always replied to anyone asking questions about how to take care of vegetables, Madison was the one who made an ingenious system to use when you want to water your balcony garden, and so on.
It was only natural for us to connect even more, so slowly but surely we started to talk to one another. Not long after, we made our own group, and this is how we have befriended each other.
The most surprising thing was that almost all of us live in the same area, the North Country of New York. Coincidence, probably not! The universe has its ways of bringing people together, and this is for sure proof of this.
“Mission” might sound like a big word, but we indeed have a mission! The gardening community is a well-established group that manages to connect all over the world. After all, this is how we also started, right?
The forums and Facebook groups are amazing places to begin your gardening journey. Compared to classical websites, which sometimes appear to be kind of soulless, these groups where people are active all the time offer this sense of liveliness that we all crave. You truly feel like you are part of a community and this matters.
Unfortunately, the forums and groups have a downside: they lack organization. Yes, you can get all the info that you need, but it’s all dependent on the members. If you need some help right now but the active members are not around, then you will have to wait for your information.
This was one of the most frustrating problems we encountered, and this is how “Gardeners and Plants” was born. Here you find those passionate gardeners who are joyful to share all the info they have with you, and also the information is all here. You can look for it anytime you want, and you won’t be disappointed.
“Gardeners and Plants” is a blog made to document our own experiments and lessons, but over time we see this growing into a beautiful garden community.
This is a space where beginners could learn without judgment and more seasoned gardeners could share their wisdom with everyone. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and try to become part of the community!
Plants are our life, but not everything is about plants. The stories we tell and the stories you tell can gather people together, transforming this into the thriving gardening community that we all dream of.
Are you ready to be part of the story? Whether you’re here to find inspiration for your next project or you simply enjoy discovering fun facts about plants, all we can say is welcome to the garden!
